Liwa Tented Lodge
Liwa Tented Lodge is situated in a spectacular setting along the riverine forest and biodiverse woodlands of the Mlawula River, with a dramatic backdrop of the pink rhyolite cliffs formed by ancient volcanoes which characterize the Lubombo Mountains.
Liwa offers exclusive accommodation for a maximum of 5 guests in two luxury tents equipped with extra-length king size beds, en-suite bathrooms and verandas. Both tents offer airconditioning, along wit the main living area. Tent 1 sleeps two and Tent 2 sleeps three (with an additional extra-length day bed). These tents are nestled in the bush and widely spaced ensuring the greatest privacy. The elegant and spacious main lodge features a unique blend of style and comfort, with a fully equipped kitchen. A swimming pool with scenic views over the river is accompanied by an outdoor braai and cozy campfire area.
The lodge has been designed with minimum impact and ensures an unspoiled natural setting. As a result, game continues to frequent the area. Regularly seen are nyala, waterbuck and bushbuck together with abundant birdlife. Baboons have made their precarious home on the cliffs facing the lodge, where the occasional leopard has been spotted. Short trails within the lodge site meander through the woodland and along the river, with viewing benches for quiet meditation and contemplation.
Liwa was created for intimacy and romance and for those seeking to connect with nature to restore spirit and soul. Even a short stay at Liwa will leave you rejuvenated and inspired. However, we recommend at least two nights to fully appreciate and benefit from its special ambience.
